Dear Verona Community Members and Friends,

It is with much appreciation and gratitude that I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You stepped up. Each of you became educated and informed. All of you who came to the polls and exercised your right to vote made a difference. You have helped set the course for Verona with the (unofficial) passing of both referendum questions. Both referendum questions passed by an overwhelming majority. The Essex County Clerk’s Office will finalize mail-in and provisional ballot final results in the coming days.

In the meantime, we have much work ahead of us. Starting first thing tomorrow morning, I will be planning the design phase with our architects and engineers. This critical process will take place over the next 3-4 months as we prepare to go out to bid in late winter in anticipation of commencing construction in June 2020.

Stay tuned for more details as they unfold. But in the meantime, thank you for believing in us and trusting what is in the best interests of our students, of our staff, and of our schools. Verona is on the path to continue to build on the incredible progress and success we have realized. Our success and progress is the direct result of your support.

With gratitude,

Dr. Rui Dionisio
